Greetings from Brooklyn, New York!! This website has been birthed from a desire to share with others who, like myself, teach children’s church or Sunday School in a small church setting, perhaps even creating your own curriculum like I have. Each week the lesson preparation begins with reading the Bible selection several times to understand what to share, then searching the Internet for ideas that work for my class. Each lesson is taught from the New King James Version and includes a craft that highlights what we have learned. Many crafts we use originate from other websites and it is the favorite part of our class.
It was through gleaning from the Internet to find the perfect craft or lesson ideas that I decided to create my own website in hopes that it would be useful to others. I had no idea how complicated creating a website was, but if you are willing to join me in this journey my fellow laborer in Christ, there is much we can learn from each other. My hope is that we can share ideas on this site that will help children understand the Bible, making it the foundation of their lives. Now more than ever children need to know the hope and good news of the Gospel.
I love to teach thematically and have covered several themes such as The Armor of God, Fruit of the Spirit, the Lord’s Prayer, and currently the entire book of Proverbs. While teaching Proverbs, I have been unable to find a children’s church curriculum that teaches every chapter which became the impetus for this website. In the Proverbs section I will share my journey through teaching Proverbs with the changes I have made along the way. Eventually I hope to also share some successful themes from the past. Below are our finished projects for the Armor of God. We used them for decorations during our Roman themed VBS in 2021.
